There are many good online dictionaries, but what I like about the Oxford Learner’s Dictionary is that you can choose between British or American English if you want to listen to the pronunciation.

Learning synonyms is essential if you want a powerful vocabulary repertoire. The ability to use a variety of words with the same meaning gives the ESL learner an advantage.
